Final Blog Entry

The Documentary “An inconvenient Truth” is written and started by candidate to the US president seat, Al Gore.  It is directed by Davis Guggenheim through the film maker company, Paramount classics. This film is about the accelerated effect on global worming. More than that, how Gore have been try to awake the world the matter and seen is not important enough to politicians, industry and every one in general.

The first images is given to support the basic explanation of why global worming is produced. Thanks to the green gashouses that make the cape of atmosphere thicker. As Gore explain, The radiations from the Sun hit the Earth and get out of the Earth.  In the out going process some of those radiations are retained in the atmosphere increasing the normal level of temperature of the cosmos.

The second and third picture, are to reflect the impact of the some of the damages of globals worming. Those are the pictures of the Kilimanjaro mountains . The first one in the later seventies compare to the one in the actuality. It is very easy to tell how much we have lost of the nature of the resources. According to Gore, 40% of the people in the world get water from the melt of this mountains. If mountains don not produce enough ice to become water. How will this 40% of people will survive?

The fourth and last picture is a reflection of the hurricane Katrina in 2005. The reason why this picture is here; is because  the damages of the Katrina is relate with global worming. After the Hurricane pasted florida, it went to the gulf of Mexico. There, the temperature was in an irregular high temperature. So the nature phenomenon gained a lot of power and what happened with Lois-Ana, We all know.

This story about global worming is very persuasive and very interesting, but it left me with a doubt. When I was a child I always heard that we were destroying the cape of  atmosphere. So the sun will affect us directly because we wont have the protection necessary. Now we are not making holes to the cape of atmosphere, we are making it thicker. I need to clarify my confusion.

Entry 21: Blog series 3

During the whole semester in ENG099 class, I posted all my work in the blog “Living in The Matrix”.  My personal blog is composted by 21 entries including this one . I considerate that number 13, 8 and 1 were my best results.  Number 13 was a revision to a CAT practice in which I think I gave a strong supporter evidence.  Number 8 is also one of my favorites, perhaps because the example of a book that I had read, The Giver. And my entry number one, looking back to my entire process, I feel very proud of because it is a decent job with less of the experience that I have now. I did not know how the relation between the claim and the thesis statement works.
Writing online in this class, was different than my previous ESl099, where I used black-board,  because here all my post were not only a re-writing. The blog entry was able to improve my skills as a writer. One because the number of words that I could write in an essay are much more now. Another one, that I was able compare My previous work with the one in present. I used to read other students work when I wanted to make sure that I was on the right track. I also knew when other read my because we discuss it in class.
I think That all the lesion given were necessaries to accomplish the goal of the class. There for, I wont take anything out of the program . What I would suggest is to have a litter more  interaction between the students. Maybe because it is to mush technology for me. I remember  seen a student in our seventh day of lab and I did not know he was in our class. The most remarkable moment for me was watching the Truman Sow. I was amassed by the theme of this film. I remember that the 4-5 days after I saw the movie, I was could not stop thinking about the movie and all the possibilities for this to happen in the real world.
My advised to any one who is planning to take this class in the future is, first of all to do all the work. Even if you feel is to easy you must get it done and you wont regrets to do so.  A second one is that if you made to the end, made the day of the CAT the most important day of  that moth for you. Two minutes late could cost you another semester of class.

Blog 20: Expanding on one topic in Sleep Dealer

Second group
“Fight”

I believe Memo says “fight” as the last word in the film because is one of the message that the author is sending to the world. During the film, Memo had one perception that the people of his town did not have and he fought for it. His father never trusted him about his theory that there was a better world out of Santa Ana. Tragically, his father had to die in order the door could get open to him. So, fight and believe in his dreams, was  the first battle that Memo had to overcome.

The second one was not to be added as one more of people that are slave of the capitalism system.  Like Lijun Zhou says “Is not just a fight, it is a notification that can awake people up”. Memo, after exploring the American dream, understood that the dream was no more than an illusion. He saw an opportunity in what he had learned from his father; and he adopted his background to become an independent thinker.

Blog entry 19: The Story of Stuff and Labor

The History of Stuff
Topic # 3.

The History of Stuff, another poke to our memory about what we are really doing to the world.  Annie Leonard state that 200,000 people are moving to the cities because they don’t have another option more the be part of the capitalism system.
The reason why people leave their home tow for a worst condition is because the decrease of natural resources. As a result they are the more affected and the corporation are the biggest winners.

I personally remember in my home tow in the early nineties when people were disposing food produces from their lands in stead to growing tobacco. The Dominican Republic had the world attention in the production of cigars. It was perfect at the time for the people at the country side because they had two sources of income. One was the labor in the manufactory  process in the cities, and second one for the owner of the lands growing or renting the land to grow the raw material. Bout generating more revenue the ever. Then not just cigarettes were bad for health, cigars as well. So investors run away, and the local people looked it as humiliate to go bad and work in the natural food industry. That is what the consumerism could do to  generations of tradition of living in a single decade.

Blog Entry 18: Sleep Dealer

In the movie "sleep Dealer" there are different topics that the author is trying to predict as problems in our up-coming future base on the events of nowadays. Perhaps some of them we are already dealing with as the case of the privacy of internet age.
I chose the image above because is a reflection of the issue that Luz had with her computer software. She had to be completely honest to the computer; otherwise, the computer wont record her journal. That is what this picture is saying to me. It wants more then what we really want to give it. Why can’t we set limits about our privacy using the web? It is the abstinence the only way?
It seems to me like in the same case of Luz that the “E-world” ( I mean the cosmos of the technology) is raping us. It doesn’t do it physically, but it does it morally.  They can harass you with recommendations just base on your history use. What is more their analysis of your persona is transfer from company to company with commercial purpose. And they can so easily get away with the cheap excuse that is on our favor.
Going back to other example from the movie about this matter is when Ramirez, the pilot, is willing to help Memo opening the dam to his people. He is attacked because the machine could identify what was his intention.
My claim is not that we can’t get way lying to computer, what I would like have is to be able to do a purchase online for mother’s day and not to get a e-mail on May next year for a special offer.

Blog entry 17: Reflection The food industry.

The food industry was the third section of this ENG class which has being very interesting for me. Maybe because this is a topic that anyone could personally be related with it, and I did find myself on it. We started with the Meatxit, a sort series of cartoon films, that start on our 14th day of class; and end the 18th day we the suggestion of Michael Pollen’d in his book “In defense of Food”. I think I am more concerned about my nutrition now, and enriching my knowledge about good and healthy food.
I was amazed after Watching the Meatrix.  Not just because the creativity of the producers to make that connection with the original movie, it was because how logical the message was.  We live cheated about the consumption of products that are not really what are sold to us.  Like Pollen’d says, the more difficult is to pronounce the name of a product the less close we should get to it.  There could be tens of classifications in a single line of product.
This section is another example that goes with the philosophy with this class. To become aware about our surround, how much is out there that I don’t know? Or maybe somthing I’d being exposed to, but I ignore the facts.
We also had a CAT practice in which I felt very comfortable writing it. The example in the passage is not something that is only happening on the west coast of the country, we can see it nationally. As I said, I’m eager to keep open my eyes on this matter. I don’t know how this could save my live, or how I could help others to save them. So far, I’m leaning a terrific lection for modern life, and at the same time I’m improving my skill as a CAT writer.

Blog Entry 16:CAT-W practice

Greg Critser, The author of “let them eat fat” explain some of the problems that the fast food industry is bringing to certain sectors in the nation. He says that for the last two decades they have targeted poor neighborhoods with the strategy “get more for a few cents extra”. With this tentative offer the number of calories could get double in a single meal while the obesity in young people is increasing in the country. I believe that we should give a strong support to the negative image of the fast food restaurants. Doing so, they will be forced to change their menu for a healthier one and we will reduce problems to our government agencies.
Everyone knows that the products of fast food restaurants are not the best friend for our health. They only make us fatter.  As long as we keep purchase them, they would still appearing in the first page of the menu. For their cost of production  is very low and their marge of profit considerable.  We have to stop buying them, and persuade others to do the same thing. The better people are informed about the effects of these ingredients; they will have less interest in eating them. A couple years ago, the mayor of New York City passed a law where all fast food restaurants had to present on their menu the number of calories offers in each item. This rise a lot of controversy especially for the owner of the business who were scare of the impact this could create to their customers. Consumers were awake about the matter and business owner had to be more creators. Such as the case of Mac Donald’s who with his four types of salads, is one the bigger vendor globally of the garden’s food. They never went out of business, and they considerate the benefit of the people.
As Critser states that the number of physical activity over teenagers has dropped; at the same time the work for some of the authorities of the city increases.  Agencies like the health department and the education seem have to do more because this cause. When kinds get obese they have a high possibility to develop diabetic. Also they are less active and productive; therefore, teachers have to do a bigger effort in order to teach the lection.  At the end the state budget will be affected, and fallowing the line will be all of us, the tax payers, who suffer more.
So the next time that someone in inviting you to a fast food restaurant, deny the invitation. Then give him the reasons why and convenes him not to go neither. I know he would understand, or if he wants to go by himself tell him that just to ask for a single side.

Blog: 15

“The Meatrix” is a shorts series of animated film that is illustrated base on the original movie “The Matrix”. Morpheus, Lio and Trinity, are replaced by three different species of animals farm. Morpheus, the cow, goes with Trinity, the chicken, to show, Nilo, the pig, the reality of the agribusiness.  Lio after being exposed to the cruelty to these animals, is revealed in destroying the agricultural industry. I think that the messages that” The matrix” is bringing to us should be considerate. Therefore, I think we should stop supporting the big industries of the agricultural business as in order to preserve our health and the health of the animal as well.

Animal cruelty is very often presented in the agribusiness. The abuse on their feeding, treatment and even mental health is unknown by the consumers, who are still dreaming on the idea of the quality of their food.  These animals are grouped in critical limited spaces where they can’t even see their tails. What is more, they receive all kind of medications; some to prevent their illness and others to make them grow fast in order to satisfy the demand of the market. They are resistant to death thanks to the huge amount of antibiotics they receive.

When we choose to get the products of the big meat industry, we are getting more for less, but at the same time putting on the side the importance of our health. The condition of how these animals are process is a ugly true. We as the consumer are literary blind about the sources of our alimentation. We are extremely considered in reading the Nutrition’s Facts that are given on the pocket, but there is not enough information to tell us the whole process of life of the animal that we are eating. Why not stop supporting them? If protein is the excuse, we an get it from other sources such as rice, oat or beans.  They are even cheaper and definitely cleaner then those agric-meat product.

In short, if we care about the our health and the health of those defenseless animals, is time to stop putting in the shopping car  the eggs, cheeses and meat of the national brands. There are still some local family who offer more decent food.

Blog Entry 14: The Meatrix

I think that the producer of the Meatrix have taken the movie as a model because the similitude that exist between both. Like Neo in the Matrix, we as the consumer don not know the reality about from where our food comes . We have the general idea that milk, eggs and meat are happily produce in traditional farms.

Blog Entry 13: CAT-W Practice Revision

In March 31, 1999, Warner Bros. Picture released The Matrix. It is a fiction-action film starring with Keanu Reeves. Reeves is a computer programmer who called himself Neo. He is eager to find the true about The Matrix. He then is contacted by the people who run the world made out of a computer program, and after meeting them he has to decide between staying in, or going back to his ordinary life style. He accepts the challenges, and then he discovers that he is the one who has the skill to save the Matrix of its enemies (Source Wikipedia)

The Matrix is considered as a message film like many others movies. Some have said that the movie is a critic of how we, the human, are treating the world. Others have stated that the movie is a reflection of how we are slave of our own system. Every movie has a message; some more stronger than others, but at the end of the day it just a movie. I don’t think that we should take it that serious abut the moral of  the Matrix, because the first goal of the movie is to make money, and on the other had there are hundreds of movies created each year with the same purpose.

The principal goal on the cinema producers is to make money out of their films; to change people’s mind could take a second place. The movies that are being releasing these days, are millionaires investments. Why entrepreneurs would put so much money in risk out there just to try to change the way how people think? An example is the documentary “An Inconvenient Truth”. A film that cost only one million dollar to produce and have earned 50 millions gross revenue worldwide. I not saying that make money was the intention of the writer and stare of the film, AL Gore, but it was to the producers. Al Gore had tried and tried to get the attention of the world about his own theory of the negative impact of global worming. In one of his presentation he convinced  Laurie David, and   David convinced herself of the brilliant opportunity that she had of making a film out of that idea. As a result Al Gore is pleased that he got the attention of the world about the matter, but more than delighted are the producers who are still seeking for more ideas to bring them to the big screen.
Another reason why we should not care about of the message of the Matrix, is because there are so many movies with they different perspective. For a lover of the cinema entertainment like me, what we are looking for is to have fun; not to bring $12.50 to sell window tickets in exchange to be persuaded in 90 minutes. I believe last year I went to the theater at least fifteen times. It will be impossible for me to put in practice all the positive of those movie in my personal life. I don’t think I can fly from a building to another and stay alive.

So for those who have seen the Matrix and are dealing if what the movie is saying is significant or not; just remember how much fun did you have, for example looking at Trinity like I did, and move on. There are many others movies that are waiting for our attention.

Blog Entry 12: Reflection and Evaluation

Spring break is gone and with its start we had concluded our second series of this ENG-099 class. We start this series with the movie The Truman Show, from which I still amazed, followed by the Matrix. I had the opportunity to improve some of my skills as a CAT-writer, but I still have to overcome other challenges. There are others six weeks where I can get ready to meet the requirements to pass and enter to the 101 level.
We completed four blog entries plus two CAT practice in class.  I could post all my blogs on the same day they were demanded; even if I have to completed them at home, or make them better over the weekends. About the text practices, one was returned and I passed with a few points extra of the minimum score, the other one was given by the CUNY department and they have not provided the results yet.
The two movie were very similar in theirs theme, but we focused on the Matrix. Thus, this is the source of inspiration of this course.  We also had an online class discussion about the Matrix which was a new experience for me.  I could get the point of view of the whole class from the comfortable sofa in my living room.  The Matrix was so into our live those weeks that I could not blame a classmate who had dreamed with it overnight.
Thanks to all the work we did with both movies, I became more aware about how to make a claim.  This is one of the three things that I need to improve in order to go ahead in this class. The second one is to prepare my thesis-statement together with the structure of my essay. I know that is one the key point of my essay, and what is more, it helps the reader as a guide of my paper structure, but I don’t know how to make it simple.  I always have in mind three or four sentences when I only can write one. The third challenge is where to put the summary of the passage in my CAT writing. I get confused with the appropriate location of it. It should be my first paragraph or the second one? In addition I feel that my respond and my summary are very similar.
Now that I have recharged my batteries after spring break, I’m looking forward to receive more CAT practices, and mastering my writing.

Blog Entry 11. CAT-W Practice 3 Revisions posted as

In the passage “The Danger of Reality TV” brought by Buzzle.com, they state that the TV shows are projecting priorities on the competition, more value to the person’s image, and less importance to the education. I agreed that TV shows are telling to the youth that the physical is more important than the talent and the capability, and that the American dream is getting behind in their options.

The participants in TV shows can gain a quickly popularity either if they are good looking or all the apposite. Normal looking people have to work harder to be well known. In 2009, The British TV Show “Idol”, got the world attention when Susan Boy sang the dream song. Together with her voice of angel was her uncommon appearance for a TV show’s person. Her unexpected performance according with her look, gave her a big popularity for a while. At the end, she did not won because the judges were not that fool to select her as the one.

Young people can come with the conclusion that by being accepted in a reality show and taking the opportunity to become well known, they don’t need to go to college. Why should the go for years of hard work and on top of that to carry a debt  if there is a easier way to make it. Just fill up as much application as possible and show up to all the auditions around the nation, one of those days will be your day. I remember my friend from my first job, Virginia. I was a junior high school student and she was a freshman in college. She was  elected to a realty show called “La Casa the Cristal”(The Glass House). She was one of the semi-final, but did not win. What she got after the show was finished, was a job offer in an entertainment program; even though she was an accounting student. Being at the show changed her life dramatically, and she did not feel any need to continuing college.

I think that the competitions that we are seeing in the programs are acceptable so far, what we have to be careful with it is the  risk that this messages are putting to our future teacher, doctors, lawyers , and etc.

Blog Entry 10. Lable the claim, reasons, and evidence.

The question formulated by Dr. J about the discussion of The Matrix,  a student called Henry answered that he would deny to take the red pill. He claimed that he won’t put his life in risk because the world that Morpheus presents is already a desert.  I disagree with Henry because what more could he put in risk than living in a world of paint. Let say that he takes the blue pill and he goes back to his innocent stage, so won’t be more dangerous to live in a lie? And maybe one day by mistake, you felt and face the true. What a tragedy! Why not to find out right the way and see what you can do for yourself and for others if there is an interest.

Blog Entry 9: Telecommute Report-out.

The Matrix telecommute class was my first  online class experience.  I felt kind of lonely even though we were all connected at the same time.  I missed the physical present of the class. I think we are at the middle of a transfer, because this is a projection of how classes are going to be in the future.  It was great that we could get everybody’s idea about the three different topics in 90 minutes. I had problem looking at my own post, but then  Gabriel Lang told me that I had to reload the page. I learned how to work live in group from distance.

Blog 8: Responding to a significant topic in The Truman Show

In the movie, The Truman Show, Cristoff the creator prepares what he called “the perfect world” for Truman. In His world people seem to be happy all the time, and it could not be more tentative for anyone to be there. If I would have to decide between the world where we are living and “the perfect world” of Cristoff, I definitely stay where I am today; because in that world of fantasy I could live with limited risks, but my life will have much less sense.
Sea heaven could be physical described as an urban paradise. Where every resident carry a smile on their face and the weather is not an impediment to any kind of activity. The town does not count with any history of violence and we can also say that they don’t know any kind of racial problem. Thus, the family that Truman greets every morning saying: “Good morning, and in case that I don’t see you, good afternoon, good evening and good night!” they are people of color, and by what they were wearing, they seem to have a decent economic status.  These are some of the problems that Cristoff is trying to leave out of his perfect world.
What he forgot to give them, maybe unintentional, is the motivation that gives people the reason to live. Cristoff had everything well calculated to keep Truman happy in sea heaven, but he did not have a satisfactory idea to calm Truman’s encouragement. When Truman was attending to college, he fell in love with a girl that he met. She also liked Truman but they could not develop their felling because that was not the plan to fallow.
He could not forget those bright blue eyes, and he found refuge in one red sweater that he got from her when she left it at the beach the night when they kissed. Sylvia was the boost that made him to discover the true, his motivation.
A similar significance to this movie has the book The Giver by Lois Lowry. Lowry describes a “save-perfect" community where every individual accomplishes a specific responsibility.  In the town all feeling that can provide people joy and pain; happiness and sadness has been taken away from them. There is only one person, the Elder of memories, who preserves all the senses in case they are need for emergency. One day he will have to retire and be replace for some one else, so Jonas, the main character of the story, has been selected as the candidate. He goes for his training and receives most of the basic feeling. Now he can see colors, he can taste, he knows what is love, hate, and etc. Jonas decides to take his litter brother, Gabriel, and flee the community because he feels so different that no one can understand him beside the Elder.
In occasions, like Jonas or Truman, we see ourselves living in a perfect conditions, but with the curiosity of many questions that no one can’t give us the answers. Is on us to go out to look for the answers and find the area were we belong to.

Blog Entry 7: Reflection and Evaluation

During the first three weeks in this class of ENG099, I feel happy with my performance, as with the whole class. I have achieved the number of words  required for the writings, and so far the readings have been understandable to me.
I think I still need to improve my responses to an argument essay, which is the main idea of this class, and my spelling errors never leave me alone (they are so loyal to me). I also have to make a bigger effort on getting to class on time.  It is a battle between my job and the school every afternoon. My job requires me to go all over the places around NY City and at 5:00 PM is when this action starts. In addition, I need to pay more attention to word form.
I have to put in practice the use of the writer’s guide book to move ahead. Hearing the professor's explanations, I believe that it will make me a better writer, together with the habit of reading.
The CAT-W was very interesting. First of all, I know we were advised about the text, but I did not imagine it would be so formal. It made me kind of tense. But I think I did an acceptable job; that’s what I think. My passage was the (text form #41) Social-Media Blackout at Harrisburg U. I summarized the passage and I mentioned the main Idea, which I was against. I also had the opportunity to express two reasons, giving my examples. I hope we will get more of these because I want to feel comfortable and familiar with accurate texts.

Blog Entry 6: Review Socrates' and Plato's Allegory

For centuries, human have always been interested in studying their own behavior, some of their hypothesis have already been proved and some are still waiting for an answer.  One that is known for more than two thousand years is when people are espoused to a new philosophy different than what they used to believe for life. I believe that as soon as the individual is identified with the new ideology, he could and will not be the same person any more.
In “The Allegory of the Cave” we found the first step bout this theory. Plato in his book “The Republic” gives us a parable told by Socrates, his professor, to Glaucon, his brother; in which people have been living in a cave limited to see the real world, and then one of them is released to see the creation for the first time. Later he tries to go back to his original place, but the people that he left behind can not get along with his new perceptive.
when I was a child I used to think that people could never change their economic status. I remember when my best friend from elementary school and from my neighborhood, Miguel,  moved to another place. His family had to leave not just because the west cost of the city was more cleaned, or more quiet and perhaps because is from where  the people seen to have a peaceful life. It was because his father, who worked at a financial institution, had been promoted has a branch manager. So the income that the Polancos had at the time it was unreachable for the rest of the families in the town.  I did not like the idea that my friend was living. I could not imagine him been friend with those kids who had the best cloth and always the best bicycles and all the baseball equipments. I could not pictured Miguel there. The reason was that they were crossing the line.
Another experience that I have lived about the ignorance is when I passed my first Easter season in NY and noted that not Everyone is  catholic in the world. I was only twelve when that happened. in my country, The Dominican Republic, There is only one religion which is the Roman Cattle.  I used to think that every big Friday no one  work, and that during the forty days of the season everybody could eat anything instead of meat. So I was chocked when I found out the realty. I could not blame my grand mother when I told her that my wife, who was raise in a protestant religion, became catholic in order to married me at the church. My mother asked me that where was her that she had not had her first communion at the age of twenty five.
So learning from my owe experience and adopting that idea that Plato wants to give us, I am always willing to accept a new ideology in my up-coming period of life.

Blog entry 5: Summary “The Allegory of the Cave”

“The Allegory of the Cave” is a recording from the book “The Republic”  by Plato, philosopher Greek, which give us a lesson about how the human knowledge behaves after been exposed to a new philosophy. The parable is original from a conversation between Socrates and Glaucon, professor and brother of Plato. Socrates presents to his student an imaginary world were people have being living in a cave. There they have their hands and head chained, and all the have is a blank wall in front of them which occasionally give them a reflection of other people and objects, which they have never seen. The sounds and the shadow of these, is all the know in their entire live.
Then one of them is released and can see the world out of the cave for the very first time. later he trays to go back and to share his experience of the world with the people who have stayed in the darkness, but they can’t understand him.  To them, he just look like one of the other shadow reflected on the wall.

"Blog Entry 4: Hype Workshop".

Kalle Lasn explains in his passage "Hype" how he can't get away from this new era of advertisements. It is almost impossible to protect your eyes from the invasion of ads at all the time and all over the places. Since we wakeup to turning dawn the light before to sleep, we are exposed to the ideas of others on their won preferences. Some entities have found the ways to present their products in places that it may had been absurd to think so. The author wishes that the liberty of his free thinking would be helped by the knowledge of his own experience, no by the memories of the music of a commercial which he can't get away from. Base on this, I strongly believe that my generation decisions are influenced by advertisement.
Nowadays, the benefit of getting ahead from your competition could not be how good is your product from the one in the next block, it is how many times the buyer have seen your product before he/she had made the decision to get it. Advertisements have always played an important place in products, but the central idea has lost his path. The original purpose of so was to persuade an individual or group that the item have been created to satisfy their need, to make in somehow their live easer, or why not, as a result through that item have a good way of living. Now what only matter is the last one.

Not long ago, it was the international famous super-ball. For most of the people, the event is not just to watch who is going to walk out with the cup of the National Football League. It is to watch those innovated, attractive, and most of the time comic commercials created by those powerful corporation. Days early is announced how much millions would cost the prestigious 30 minutes on the TV. Blog Entry 3: Summarizing "Hype".

In her article Hype”, Kalle Lasn argues that advertisements are the worse mental pollution that humans are facing today.  From day to night, a lot of people are expose to millions of ads every day.  Advertisements are found all over the places  at any time.  Even during their relaxing moments, people can’t get away from them.

Reflecting on Annotation

1.     What did you get from thinking about annotations with the class?

I got a new way of thinking about my future writing that I did not now it before. what is more, this new technique I can use it no just for my writing class, it could be very effective for any kind of reading I’d interest on it.

2.     what did you get from writing annotations from “Is Google Making Us Stupid?” with your partners?

My group and I, found the argument of the author in the last sentence in the first paragraph which is that the better we concentrate on the information that we are given, the best result we will get from it.  We also leaned the meaning of some new words such as scatterbrained, superficially and shallow.

3.     Want did you learned about the writing by annotating it?

I  got the main idea (as I already explained in question number 3), and I also learned some other though that were in the reading connected with the main point. He said, the author, that Google is a weapon the works against our brains, and that is for two main reasons. One it makes us careless offering an easy and fast way out to what  we want, indeed, in a very fast way.  And second  it does not aloud us to concentrate on the information because all the interruptions while we are reading, especially the ads. This is how Google gets its revenue.

4.     How may annotating make you a better writer?

I believe that through the annotation I could absorbed the context piece by piece. therefore, I could  get all the minimum information that the writer wants me to have and that engage me to give a better respond.

Blog 1

Kalle Lasn explains in his passage "Hype" how he can't get away from this new era of advertisements. It is almost impossible to protect your eyes from the invasion of ads at all the time and all over the places. Since we wakeup to turning dawn the light before to sleep, we are exposed to the ideas of others on their won preferences. Some entities have found the ways to present their products in places that it may had been absurd to think so. The author wishes that the liberty of his free thinking would be helped by the knowledge of his own experience, no by the memories of the music of a commercial which he can't get away from.

Today, the benefit of getting ahead from your competition could not be how good is your product from the one in the next block, it is how many times the buyer have seen your product before he/she had made the decision to get it.

This information itself is makes ad. So getting back to my point, with empathy to kalle lans's frustration, the fallowing day to the game if I wanted to by a soda I may pick a Coca-Cola instead of Pepsi. Not because it is the one with less sugar and better taste, it could be because that is the one with the kool commercial about the two enemies solder at the border of their county.
