Blog Entry 18: Sleep Dealer

In the movie "sleep Dealer" there are different topics that the author is trying to predict as problems in our up-coming future base on the events of nowadays. Perhaps some of them we are already dealing with as the case of the privacy of internet age.
I chose the image above because is a reflection of the issue that Luz had with her computer software. She had to be completely honest to the computer; otherwise, the computer wont record her journal. That is what this picture is saying to me. It wants more then what we really want to give it. Why can’t we set limits about our privacy using the web? It is the abstinence the only way?
It seems to me like in the same case of Luz that the “E-world” ( I mean the cosmos of the technology) is raping us. It doesn’t do it physically, but it does it morally.  They can harass you with recommendations just base on your history use. What is more their analysis of your persona is transfer from company to company with commercial purpose. And they can so easily get away with the cheap excuse that is on our favor.
Going back to other example from the movie about this matter is when Ramirez, the pilot, is willing to help Memo opening the dam to his people. He is attacked because the machine could identify what was his intention.
My claim is not that we can’t get way lying to computer, what I would like have is to be able to do a purchase online for mother’s day and not to get a e-mail on May next year for a special offer.
